China's five-day Labor Day break this year brings a rare convergence in Guangzhou – the Canton Fair is in full swing, and preparations for the 15th National Games are energizing the city. But beyond the daytime buzz, it's the night economy that's stealing the spotlight.

As one of China's top holiday destinations, Guangzhou has launched over 1,000 cultural and tourism activities, catering to the growing demand for personalized and high-quality travel. But it's after sunset that Guangzhou truly comes alive. Across the city and surrounding areas, a wave of nighttime cultural hubs, open-air markets and immersive events is transforming how locals and visitors spend their evenings.

The newly opened Forest Light and Music Park debuted with the Camping and Lifestyle Festival, bringing together tents, music, traditional crafts and outdoor fun under the stars. More than 30 live performances created a vibrant atmosphere where nature and creativity met.

Not far away in Gaotan Village, a rising rural destination, night tourism has received a fresh boost. A local food street has been transformed into a dynamic night economy zone, with sections for dining, pop-up markets, cultural shows and leisure shopping. The village is shaping a lively night scene that perfectly complements its daytime eco-tourism offerings.

Guangzhou's city-wide celebration has also rolled out 50 themed urban travel routes. From riverfront light shows to illuminated historic sites, the routes feature nighttime highlights that invite visitors to see the city in a whole new light.
